Carved in oak in the Country French Régence tradition of the Liège region, this dining table has the beauty of an elaborately worked piece and the versatility of two draw leaves. Parquet work covers the main tabletop and continues across the leaves, which slide out from beneath the top to extend the table for a larger gathering.  When closed, the leaves pocket discreetly inside, leaving a beautifully proportioned dining table for everyday use.
The shaped apron is richly carved with shells, foliage and patterned panels, while the curved legs end in distinctive hoof feet. The carving carries around the sides, giving the table a finished presence from every angle. An elegant and remarkably functional antique, it offers the pleasure of Régence craftsmanship at a table meant to be used and enjoyed.
