Antique Rustic Dutch Draw Leaf Dining Table ~ Breakfast Table is an ingenious contrivance that provides a cozy table for four designed for the majority of time, but with two leaves that draw out in an instant to create seating for six on a less frequent occasion.  Once the meal is complete, the leaves tuck back in just as quickly to regain valuable floor space.  Designed in classic Dutch fashion, it features two large hand-carved urn pediments on each end set upon an "H" structure with contoured feet carved with acanthus plumes which complement the carvings on the pediments.  An apron above houses the two leaves and provides a platform for the free-standing top which guides itself into the apron frame via another ingenious method, with the leaves mounted to long arms angled to raise the leaves exactly the thickness of the table top for a straight surface when deployed.  No metal fittings, no complex joinery, but simplicity itself that will provide enjoyment for generations to come.  The finish has been stripped using our proprietary method to reveal the natural beauty and patina of the wood, and work so well with today's more casual decors.
