Antique Rustic Dutch Trestle Table in Stripped Oak is a truly ingenious design, perfected over centuries by talented craftsmen from the region.  Utilizing dense, old-growth white oak, thick planks were used to form the top, sturdy enough that a supporting apron is not required, which increases knee clearance.  A classic Dutch technique is to bind the top planks together with runners underneath which are then pegged into the support structure, in a manner such that the table can be disassembled for easy transport, yet remain exceptionally sturdy when in use.  The supports are urn-shaped planks of oak, which connect to leg structures with rounded feet, all joined with mortise & tenon.  The archer's bow shape was used for the trestle, another trademark of the region, and in this case unusually secured with two opposing shims on each support!  The perfect size for a breakfast table, games, even a modern computer desk, its stripped oak finish presents a soft, pleasing visual allure that will work with any casual decor.
