Created during the 19th century in the refined Louis XVI tradition, this exceptional French bronze firescreen brings the cultivated elegance of château life into the present day. Its oval form is framed by intricate laurel leaves, acanthus flourishes, beading, and classical scrollwork, all enriched by a beautifully aged bronze patina.
Suspended beneath a sculpted ribbon bow is an elaborate musical trophy composed of sheet music, instruments, tassels, and leafy branches. Originally from the music room of a French château, the imagery is especially meaningful, celebrating the role of music and the arts within gracious 19th century interiors.
A pierced handle crowns the firescreen, while finely modeled supports and foliate feet complete the composition. Both decorative and functional, this antique firescreen is a remarkable expression of French craftsmanship, classical symbolism, and the enduring refinement of the Louis XVI style.
