18th Century French Louis XVI Hand-Carved Giltwood Mirror is the perfect choice for making a timeless neoclassical statement on any wall!  Hand-carved with designs inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture, it features double-beaded trim flanking laurel motif on all four sides, accented with plinth blocks on each corner carved with circular rosettes.  On top, we see a carved sculpture of the symbol of French kings for centuries, the torch and quiver of arrows, bound by flowing ribbon and flanked by rose sprays.  The torchere and carquois de fleche represented the longevity and power of the French monarchy dating back more than a millennium.  The entire frame was given a gold finish that has achieved a lovely patina over the centuries.  The mirror has just been replaced to provide many more decades of enjoyment.
