19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Giltwood Mirror is one of the most popular designs we've carried in over three decades in the business.  With a tailored, yet elegant look, this style works with just about any decor.  Here we have an example in gilded gold, in a style that is easily blended with just about any interior design, making it imminently desirable.  The size is great for over buffets, mantels, or just free hanging on the wall.  The simplicity of the design is enhanced by the complex contours of the molding, which have also been carved with subtle intaglio designs depicting foliate motifs prior to the layering of the gold.  No longer common is the fact that it retains its original four plank backing which was designed to protect the expensive silvering on the back side of the glass.
