19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Mantel Mirror represents the culmination of decades of refinement of the neoclassical style in France that appeared at the end of the 1800s.  The arched, beveled mirror is set on a subtle step-out center section which is framed on the left and right by rounded bundled wheat cornerposts, which lead the eye up to the impressive grown.  Floral and foliate sprays appear in full relief on intricately contoured raised panels, above which appears multiple tiers of bold crown molding centered with a magnificent laurel wreath with sprays, held together with ribbon and accentuated with flowers emanating from an orb design.  The center section is further framed by side panels that are topped with gloriously carved horizontal corbels  festooned with florals and acanthus leaves, appearing above reeded and fluted cornices, which in turn preside over the raised & recessed panels below lavished with full relief depictions of floral sprays dangling from bowed ribbon.  The same corner treatment on the extreme edges is further enhanced with roses at the top.  Perfect for creating a stunning focal point above a fireplace or even a buffet or sideboard to captivate everyone's attention immediately upon entering the room!
