Antique French Neoclassical Carved Wood Mirror features a bold relief depiction of a laurel wreath, used as an emperor's crown during the glory years of the Roman Empire.  Framed in a rectangular solid oak surrounding, the richly carved laurel wreath features berries on one of the long sides, and floral rosettes on each corner otherwise left bare by the curvature of the wreath.  The wreath itself is a wonderful three dimensional sculpture that can only be fully appreciated by close examination.  Because of the wraparound nature of the design, the mirror works just as well oriented vertically as well as horizontally.
