Antique Italian Baroque Patinaed Giltwood Mirror

Antique Italian Baroque Patinaed Giltwood Mirror is a marvelous example of the genre, with flowing, naturalistic lines and a double border with the interior border overlaid atop the mirror for a wonderfully intricate effect.  A stylized foliate crest appears centered on the top of the arch, with foliate scrolls cascading down the shoulders and wrapping completely around the frame, meeting at the center of the bottom with an intriguing pediment and scrollwork motif.  Notice how the framework's scrolls interwine with the work and tie into the inner border.  Truly a work of art!
