19th Century French Napoleon III Period Gilded Mirror will make a splendid addition to any room!  The proportions are somewhat unusual, tall and narrow, making it ideal for special spaces and niches.  The gently arched crown was a departure from the preceding Louis Philippe style, and during the reign of Napoleon III a profusion of timeless ornamentation was added to the genre, such as the shell with floral and acanthus foliates cascading down to each shoulder.  Upturned foliates reach up from the bottom as if greeting the ornamentation above, with beading surrounding the actual glass of the mirror itself.  Perfect for hanging by itself, or atop a console or other surface, it is a very versatile design that will add elegance anywhere it is placed.
