19th Century Oil Painting on Board of Holy Family is a stunning work in the Renaissance Revivalist style, rendered on solid planks of pine to depict Jesus, Mary & Joseph flanked by two praying angels.  The demilune composition allows ornamentation in the upper corners, along with the inscription in Latin which translates "In humility, I am exalted in them" referring to the believers of Christianity.  The anonymous artist has utilized other important symbolism and colors related to the traditional representations, with expressions on the figures depicting serenity, devotion and adoration.  The angels hold incense burners which were part of the ceremony of Mass.  Truly an inspired work perfect for a display in the devotional area of your home.
