A distinguished painter of the Liège School, Wurth trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, exhibited at the Cercle Royal des Beaux Arts de Liège for more than forty years, and later served as professor of drawing at the Academy.
His celebrated body of work encompassed the forests, rivers, valleys, villages, and city scenes of the Ardennes and surrounding region, interpreted with close observation and an enduring sense of poetry.
