Antique Framed Oil Painting on Board by Jean Muller (1904-1977) lived and worked in Switzerland, and is noted for his post-impressionistic landscapes of the countryside.  The rolling foothills and mountains of the region certainly inspired him, and his fame occurred posthumously, with his first painting sold at auction in the year 2000.  Here Muller has used a splendid palette of greens to evoke perspective and shadow, with a quaint village and church in the background to add visual interest.  Note the sole denuded tree in the foreground indicating the very early weeks of Spring.  Survives in its original frame.
