Antique Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Dieudonne Jacobs (1887-1967) is a delightful work in pastel hues depicting a lovely springtime scene of a stone bridge over a babbling brook.  Dieudonne Jacobs (1887-1967) was born in Liège and spent his life as an artist between the Belgian Ardennes and the French Riviera, especially between Spa and La Garde (present day Toulon).  He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, and became known for his inimitable impressionistic style.  The bridge captivates center of attention in the composition, but is extraordinarily enhanced by the blooming tree, most probably a dogwood.  Note the artist's deft use of color in the immediate foreground as contrasted with the subtle hues of the distant mountains in the background.  Survives in its original frame.
