Antique Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Rene Clarot (1882-1972) was painted in 1936 and puts the artist's talents on full display!  Using an impressionistic method, Clarot deftly blended the blue-themed color palette transitioning from sky to clouds to water, with wonderful technique in the foreground depicting the shimmering action of the wavelets and how they affect the reflection.  A charming scene of a dock at a little fishing village, the composition also glorifies the simple everyday life.  Look closely for the human interest, especially in the foreground.  Clarot is remembered best for his landscapes and marine scenes.  Survives in its original frame.
