Antique Framed Oil Painting on Panel by Leon Jamin (1872-1944) is an intriguing work by the Belgian artist, wherein he utilized a spectrum of grays to evoke a seaside scene at dusk.  Note is intriguing impressionistic style yet executed with strong recognition of realism especially notable in the cloud's reflection on the water.  Survives in its original frame, and includes a self-portrait of the artist in ink on the back that was drawn at the same time this work was painted.
Leon Jamin is known for Landscape painting. Leon Jamin was a Post-Impressionist landscape painter of the Kempen and the Ardennes. He was born in Liège in 1872, and died there in 1944. He was a pupil of Carpentier and Adrien de Witte at the Academy of Liège.  He traveled in Spain and Provence to obtain his inspirations.
