Antique Framed Oil Painting on Panel of Capri by Carlo Ciappa (1890 - 1970) is a beautiful depiction of the storied seaside village as it would have appeared in the 18th and 19th centuries, with both fishing boats and pleasure craft plying the panoramic waters of the northern Mediterranean Sea.  The rock outcrop in the center of the background has been converted to a vacation destination for an affluent owner, now enjoyed by the residents of the adjoining settlements.  Here the artist has captured the brilliant blue sky reflected in the water creating a splendid pastoral effect, inviting the viewer onto the terrace to enjoy the flowers, the view, and a beautiful day!  Survives in its original frame.
