Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Adrien Dupagne (1889-1980) is a lovely still life in an impressionistic tone with vibrant colors with the vase as a pitcher placed next to a window. The flowers appear to be freshly picked and arranged and stand out against the comparatively muted background. Frame appears to be original. Dupagne studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Liege, graduating in 1910 as a sculptor, but soon after followed the advice of his teachers and learned the art of painting. In 1912 he assisted in London with sculptures for the decoration of the Titanic. His life's interests took him all over the world, even to America in his 60's, and his works have been exhibited worldwide as well, including Riga, and can still be found in several museums in Brussels, Antwerp and Liege.
Circa mid-1900s
