Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Omer Buyse dated 1981 presents an interesting palette with cool colors on an overcast day, depicting a quaint country church next to a creek.  An interesting aspect is the reinforced wall whose purpose remains lost to history.  Note the home in the distance just before the overcast sky envelopes the upper part of the composition, framed by healthy trees on the right, and an older declining tree on the left.  As a departure from typical pastorals, the creek creates a foundation for the vista, with the viewer taking in the scene from the opposite bank.  Survives in its original frame.
