Art Deco Bronze Statue of Pheasant on Marble Base features the flamboyant bird in a more relaxed mood, perhaps scouting for food while keeping a wary eye.  Such a depiction was in keeping with the sleek, modernistic look ushered in by the Art Deco movement and was reflected in everything from art to architecture.  In this work the artist chose to combine several colorations of bronze to create more visual appeal, especially when mounted on the marble base which combines luxurious Italian black marble with gold veining and Carrara marble prized for its white consistency.  A great choice for decorating just about any surface!
