Vintage Flemish Landscape Tapestry is yet another splendid rendition of art in fabric in which the Flemish peoples have excelled for many centuries!  This work is a celebration of the beauty of nature, with fruit, florals and folaites forming the bordering framework around a lush scene depicting birds drinking from a creek surrounded by a wide variety of colorful flora.  The depth of the work reveals rolling hills in the background and a lovely valley framed by the broadleaf trees on both sides of the composition.  A broad spectrum of natural earth tones comprises the scene with so many hues they are impossible to count.  Ideal for hallways, stairwells, or anywhere an expanse of wall could use softening of texture and additional color for impact.  Such tapestries originally kept draughts off of cold stone walls, as well.  Looming machines were invented in the 19th century to produce them faster and more economically.
