Grand 19th Century French Walnut Renaissance Revival Queen Bed was crafted from solid French walnut and richly carved with the strength, drama, and romance that made 19th century bedroom suites so memorable.  The tall headboard, bold footboard, turned columns, raised panels, sculptural finials, and carved dragon motifs create a bed with true presence, the kind of piece meant to anchor a room with history and beauty.
Renaissance Revival furniture of the 19th century often drew inspiration from the grand interiors of earlier European centuries, where craftsmanship, symbolism, and architectural form came together in furnishings made to last for generations.  This bed carries that spirit beautifully.  The walnut has depth and dignity, the carving has movement and character, and the scale gives the entire piece a sense of permanence that feels both romantic and deeply collected.
Originally part of a grand bedroom suite, this antique bed has been expertly converted by our staff to accommodate a queen size mattress.  The conversion allows it to be enjoyed with modern bedding while preserving the original proportions, carvings, and presence of the 19th century frame.
