18th Century Swedish Gustavian Period Rustic Painted Two-Tiered Cabinet is a classic example of the tailored, no-nonsense but charming furniture for which the hard-working Swedes are so well known.  Consisting of a normal size buffet section below and a stepped-back cabinet section above.  Each is accessed by pinned hinges that allow wide opening, easy access, hanging four doors that each consist of a single framed, chamfered panel.  The small ledge that exists between the cabinets is great for temporary holding purposes.  A tailored crown at the very top and pediment-style feet below finish out the structural aspects, but it's the distressed multi-hued painted finish that has achieved a fantastic patina over the centuries that immediately captivates the eye.  Even the interior is painted, with cornflower blue on the doors and white inside the cabinets, which combined with the care given it by the various generations explains its longevity.  Multiple shelves inside both above and below provide lots of storage and organization opportunities.
