19th Century Country French Carved Cabinet has to be one of the more unusual pieces of its kind we've seen of late!  Hand-crafted from dense, old-growth oak from the top planks to the feet below, it was literally designed to last for centuries.  Featuring a full width drawer and a generous cabinet, it provides a surprising amount of convenient storage, while doing it with incredible style!  The side panels are finely molded and chamfered, providing visual appeal from all angles.  The cornerposts are tastefully carved with acanthus sprays, wildflowers and foliates creating a pilaster effect that serves as the framework for the drawer and door facade.  The drawer is lavished with stylized shell and foliate motifs integral to the bordering and centered with a jewelry-quality cast bronze pull.  A contoured and carved apron all around adds a nice touch, but the real show-stopper is the amazing sculptural work of art in relief on the cabinet door.  Depicting a fanciful young maiden set in a cornucopia design, there is a water feature with cattails and the entire work is surrounded by an intricately carved framework that must be studied closely to be fully appreciated!  Brass hinges and an intricate bronze key guard complete the look.
