19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Inlaid Confiturier ~ Cabinet is an incredible example of the style on a wonderfully diminutive scale!  Barely two feet in width, it will make the ideal choice for placement between windows, niches, corners, you name it!  Hand-crafted from solid old-growth fruitwood, it has been veneered across the front with the flame patterns found where the largest branches emerge from the main trunk, producing the intriguing patterns you can easily see here.  The cabinet consists of a single drawer and single door with arched frame, and tailored architecture that includes rounded corners from top to bottom, urn-shaped feet, and a stately character that is a hallmark of the period.  Not typical for the period is the inlaid six-pointed star on top created by masterfully insetting olive wood and maple into the surrounding plank top.  Note the hand-hewn planks of the back.  Key guards are subtle and made from porcelain to keep the key used to open the drawer and door from damaging the surrounding wood over the course of centuries of enjoyment!
