19th Century Rustic Dutch Neoclassical Raised Cabinet was designed for an affluent household that had the space and necessity for a convenient cabinet to place in hallways or high-traffic areas that provided a nice shallow surface or two, plus a bit of storage. This example, rendered from dense, old-growth white oak, features a solid plank top situated over a wraparound foliate bordering that defines the crown of the piece. Two tailored cabinets below flanking an arched center panel open to provide a modicum of storage, all situated atop a full width display shelf below flanked by two prominent turned urn legs. An excellent choice for any passageway, or as a platform for a flat panel TV, it was literally made to last for centuries. Who knows what uses you could find in the next few decades?
