19th Century French Napoleon III Walnut Pie Crust Center Table, so called because of the shape of the contours around the tabletop, is a wonderful example of French craftsmanship!  Utilizing hand-selected, luxuriously grained walnut, the artisans created the aforementioned top, then fitted it to an intricately turned and carved pedestal which is supported by three finely scrolled and carved legs.  Such tables were meant to make a statement in the entryway, and were frequently topped with fresh flowers or other such inviting decorations to welcome all guests.
