19th Century French Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Center Table ~ Dining Table will make an excellent choice as a game table as well!  Hand-crafted and sculpted from dense, old-growth oak, it features a generously sized oval top trimmed with foliate bordering around the entire edge.  The apron provides consistent support yet retains over 25" of knee clearance.  Support is provided by a massive center column upon which four elaborately scrolled and carved legs emanate, producing solid support with timeless style.  The central column is hand-carved with a variation of Greek coin bordering above the legs, with rectangular rosettes appearing between the legs where they mount to the column.  The bounty of the earth is represented in the carved detail in glorious full relief on a cascading background of acanthus fronds and scrollwork, leading the eye to a bold upturned scroll with a subtle cloven hoof foot tip under which were placed casters to make it easy to reposition the table about the room.  The entire table has been professionally stripped by our expert in-house staff revealing the sheer natural beauty and patina of the old-growth wood making it perfect for complementing today's more casual decors.
