19th Century Rustic Neoclassical Sofa Table ~ Console in Stripped Oak is a unique piece, indeed!  Designed to be viewed from all sides, it works anywhere in the room, even in front of a window!  The depth makes for a usable surface without intruding into the room too much, and the airiness of the design combined with the natural patina of the oak combine to create a casual refinement that works with most any decor.  Four turned columns create the leg supports, in the finest traditions of ancient Greek and Roman architecture, most notably the Doric period.  The columns are in turn connected to an "H" structure which is then supported by pediment feet.  The apron above, just underneath the thick plank top, is fitted with three spacious drawers, each with a steel pendant pull.  Double-pegged mortise & tenon joinery is evident throughout the design, just another indicator that this handsome piece will provide enjoyment for many decades to come!  Ideal as a sofa table or credenza in the office, too.
