19th Century Liegoise Louis XV China Buffet is a masterwork of the cabinetmaker's art!  Soaring almost nine feet in height, it features a boldly arched crown centered with a stylized asymmetrical shell and foliate cartouche.  The boldly molded crown cascades down to the upper corners festooned with acanthus flourishes.  Below center is the glazed upper display cabinet with finely carved overlay framework.  Inside are adjustable shelves, which appear throughout the piece.  Flanking the display are the upper side cabinets, each subtly arched upwards to meet the center, and carved with shell, floral and foliates in wonderful relief.  A spacious serving surface appears between the upper and lower tiers, framed by the carved cabinetry surrounding it, with scrolled, raised panels as a backdrop.  The lower buffet consists of two drawers and three cabinets, all finely carved and fitted with cast brass pulls and key guards.  The carved embellishments complement the work on the upper tier, with the center door being the focal point of the entire work of art.  Scrolled and carved apron with scrolled legs completes the work.
