18th Century Country French Louis XIII Buffet in Stripped Oak captures the warmth, strength, and provincial charm of French craftsmanship at its finest. Hand-crafted from dense old-growth oak, the buffet was built in an era when furniture was meant to serve a household for generations. The stripped finish reveals the natural beauty of the wood, allowing the grain, patina, and hand-carved details to take center stage.
The facade is beautifully composed with three spacious drawers across the top, each framed with molded detail and fitted with solid brass bale pulls and key guards. Carved sunburst motifs appear between the drawers, while the stiles below are adorned with graceful wildflower carvings that bring a romantic, garden-inspired touch. The cabinet doors feature bold raised quatrefoil panels, creating depth, symmetry, and a stately architectural presence.
Double barrel brass hinges, shaped brass key guards, and a carved apron with scrolled legs and feet complete the design. Behind the doors and drawers, generous storage makes the buffet as useful today as it was in the 18th century. Painstakingly stripped by our in-house team using our proprietary process, the piece retains the patina and character of the antique oak while presenting a lighter, more natural finish for today’s interiors.
