18th Century Rustic Tuscan Buffet from Northern Italy displays the unique style typical to the region. The center section is deep enough for the larger serving platters, while the sides slant back towards the wall to make the piece more friendly to folks passing through the room. Three yawning cabinet doors open wide on brass barrel hinges to allow unfettered access to the capacious interior, while the three drawers provide lots of utility space above. The side drawers are cut to the same angle as the casework, a task requiring a very skilled cabinetmaker. Brass and turned wood knobs add a nice touch, as do the brass key guards on the cabinet doors. A simply scrolled apron with pediment feet completes the look. Rendered from solid old-growth oak and sycamore to last for centuries!
