19th Century Country French Fruitwood Confiturier ~ Cabinet is the perfect choice for a cozy niche, between a pair of windows or doorways, or even as a bedside companion!  Crafted entirely from old-growth fruitwood and hand-forged steel, it was designed to provide service for generations, and serve in style at that!  The solid plank top is contoured and beveled, presiding over the sturdy framework with chamfered panels on each side, and a lavishly contoured chamfered panel in an arched framework serving as the sole door.  The door is hung with a generously sized steel barrel hinge, and fitted with an equally generous pierced ferrure, or decorative keyguard.  Above the door appears carved foliate flourishes leading the eie to the full width drawer carved with complementary foliate flourishes flanking the bold steel pull with guard.  The door opens to reveal two convenient surfaces.  Below the door is the elaborately carved and contoured apron depicting a Grecian urn with wheat sprays, flanked by subtly scrolled legs carved with upturned acanthus leaves and tipped with escargot feet.
