19th Century Country French Petite Buffet in Stripped Oak is a whimsical example of rural French artisanry, and of a diminutive size making it ideal for cozy spots, small niches, hallways, or anywhere a minimal footprint is desirable!  The contoured and beveled top was made from solid oak planks, which rest atop the full width drawer and two surprisingly spacious cabinets, all in a design only 17" deep from the wall!  The aforementioned drawer is carved right into the face with wildflower designs, and fitted with a pair of steel bale pulls.   The doors below are hung with full length barrel hinges and fitted with steel key guards, then carved with fife and drum motif right into the panel, with the instruments held by flowing ribbon.  The door's framework at the top is carved with wildflowers and shell designs, with a bouquet of flowers dominating the boldly scrolled apron below, flanked by scrolled legs with escargot feet.  Eve n the cornerposts are rounded and carved for a complete visual feast for the eyes.  The natural patina and beauty of the wood has been retained with our proprietary stripping process, leaving a soft finish that is ideal for today's casual decors.
