19th Century Directoire Confiturier ~ Cabinet

19th Century Directoire Confiturier ~ Cabinet was hand-crafted using time-honored techniques handed down from generation to generation.  Utilizing indigenous old-growth oak, the artisans joined it with pegged mortise & tenon, and crafted the casework with a surprisingly complex extended mitered corner design that is quite difficult to master considering the tools available at the time.  The tailored lines alternate between framed recessed panels on the front and raised panels on the sides, with recessed panels cut into the mitered cornerposts for added visual effect.  Fine molded detail includes a base with heart-shaped feet.  Diamond shaped brass key guards and brass hinges complete the look.
