19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Buffet ~ Petrin makes the perfect choice for a credenza!  Just less than three feet tall, its original purpose was for kitchen use as a doughbox, with a trunk-like top that opens to reveal a cavernous proofing area used to let bread dough rise.  The cabinet below opens to reveal surprising storage, and was used to store all the implements used in the daily bread-making enterprise.  Hand-crafted from old growth oak by talented cabinetmakers, it features the trademark crown molding just under the plank top and oriented grain panels on the doors, with a tailored base molding and feet.  Even the key guards were fashioned from wood, making it an austere design so typical of the era.  Note the rough sawn planks used to create the back.
