19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Cherrywood Buffet was magnificently hand-crafted by truly talented artisans during the middle of the 1800s.  Utilizing old-growth cherry wood from a tree that no longer produced fruit, the wood was cut to take advantage of the natural beauty of the grain that appears where the trunk and branches converge to create the exotic patterns evident in each of the four door panels.  Straight grained wood was used for the framework, with no carved detail or bronze mounts which was the custom during the period.  The no-nonsense approach produced a restrained elegance that included incredible functionality with the aforementioned cabinets and three spacious drawers, each fitted with cast brass key guards or pulls.  The base across the facade includes figure from the wood, and rounded feet provide support.  A magnificent example of the genre, ready to serve your family with distinction for the next several generations!
