19th Century French Louis XVI Petite Buffet features a restrained expression of the style, which, when rendered in dense old-growth oak by rural artisans, produces a casual rendition of the architecture of ancient Greece and Rome!  Solid plank top, sides and front ensure decades of future enjoyment.  The rich stain and wax finish was designed to appear mahogany in looks, making it versatile for both relaxed and formal decors.  The full width drawer features finely crafted brass ring pulls with a matching medallion key guard, all appearing under the dentil trim molding that completely encircles the top.  Two tailored doors under the drawer feature recessed panels adorned with fabric swags with floral spray carvings, and each is fitted with a finely crafted brass key guard.  The center astragal carved with overlapping Greek coin motif, is attached to the right door allowing unobstructed access to the surprisingly capacious cabinet interior.  An olive branch in relief is carved into the apron below the cabinet, and each door is framed by fluted corner posts, terminating in tapered legs.  The most unusual aspect of this keepsake is the size, making it a great choice for a wide variety of uses anywhere in the home or office!
