19th Century Liegoise Hand-Carved Louis XIV Style Buffet

19th Century Liegoise Hand-Carved Louis XIV Style Buffet was sculpted from solid indigenous old-growth oak and designed to last for centuries!  The complex molding around the top edge, which surrounds a generous display and serving surface, transitions into the drawer tier.  Each drawer is framed by rectangular rosettes, the outermost of which are positioned on the angled mitered cornerposts.  The drawers are framed with fine molded detail and feature stylized foliated in bas relief, and open to reveal ample storage.  For more storage capacity, the two yawning cabinet doors below open via outboard mounted hinges for easy access.  Each door has been carved with the symbols of literature, surrounded by olive branches, ribbon and tassels, and are inset on the frame accented with rosettes on each corner.  Even the center stile which holds the dual-action lockwork has been carved with complementary olive branches.  The tailored base molding and tapered legs below provide stately support.
