Early 19th Century Country French Buffet was rendered from dense, old-growth oak and hand-forged steel to last for centuries!  The solid plank top is affixed to a very sturdy framework below, featuring raised & recessed side panels, elegantly arched cabinet door frames, and tailored bordering on the drawers.  An undulating apron appears on all three sides, supported by rounded cornerposts fitted with scrolled legs tipped with escargot carvings.  Full length steel barrel hinges, bale pulls and key guards add a nice touch.  Note the thick, solid hand-hewn panels on the back side, as well as the numerous pegged mortise & tenon joints ~ all indicative of its traditional craftsmanship using techniques handed down from generation to generation.  The size is a bit more diminutive than most, making it ideal as a credenza or even a sofa table!
