Early 19th Century Country French Buffet ~ Cabinet is yet another charming example of rural craftsmanship, created by centuries of traditional methods handed down from generation to generation. Select old-growth oak was utilized, with a solid plank top overlooking a pair of drawers with wooden knobs, and two very spacious cabinets, each fitted with a door framed with a French scroll at the top adorned with wildflowers and foliates carved intaglio style. The scrolled apron with a single rosette and legs are the only other visual enhancements; the remainder is all business with sturdy multi-pegged mortise & tenon joinery, hand-fitted panels and even hand-fitted planks on the back side. Taller yet narrower than most designs, it's perfect for a narrow wall space or corner, and can serve a wide variety of uses around the home and office, especially considering the three surfaces with two shelves inside the capacious cabinets.
