Early 19th Century Country French Buffet in Stripped Oak was hand-crafted during the Directoire Period, and features the rectilinear, tailored lines of the genre.  Utilizing old-growth white oak, the artisans created a plank top with a crown-style molding around the perimeter which overlooks the casework below.  Two drawers appear at the center, with a molded panel below which combine to separate the pair of finely molded cabinet doors.  A combination of brass hinges, brass key guards and steel lockworks were utilized, and the facade is bracketed by rounded, fluted and reeded cornerposts.  Subtly scrolled apron and chamfered side panels complete the effect.  Ideal for storage, display or even as a flat panel TV support, the simplistic architecture of this two hundred year old jewel makes it perfect for any casual decor!
