Early 19th Century Country French Buffet in Stripped Oak is truly a classic that will never go out of style!  Hand-crafted from select old-growth oak, it features a thick plank top with a cove bevel around the edge, which overlooks the top tier of three drawers.  The outer drawers are conveniently accessed with a pair of brass knobs each, while the center drawer has a brass key guard only, indicating this was the cutlery drawer and needed to be secured from the curious hands of the youngsters.  The cutlery drawer is separated by rosettes from the outer drawers.  Below, two big cabinet doors with French scrollwork on the frame at top but otherwise a tailored look enhanced with brass key guards that open to reveal a very spacious interior.  The center panel is framed by unusually cut pilasters and features a raised diamond form, positioned over a subtle intaglio carving of wildflowers on the undulating scrolled apron below, which is supported by scrolled legs.  Rounded, fluted cornerposts provide a framework for the front facade, with tailored recessed panels on each side accented by the continuation of the scrolled apron.  Note the generous use of pegged mortise & tenon joinery throughout the design, front and back and solid oak chamfered panels even on the back!  Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff.
