Early 19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Rustic Walnut Buffet represents an austere design that defined the era!  Utilizing local walnut, the artisans "bookmatched" the cabinet door panels, splitting the solid walnut into two mirror-image panels to create a wonderful visual effect.  Tailored molding and a rectilinear design style permeates the work, with the only scrolled forms being the corbel-style legs below.  Turned knobs on the pair of drawers maintain the straightlaced architectural style, as does the squared keyhole guard and pull on the cabinet below.  Note the pegged mortise & tenon joinery used throughout the design.  The natural finish allows the sheer natural color, patina and beauty of the wood to show forth, even on the solid plank top!
