Early 20th Century Country French Louis XIII Confiturier ~ Cabinet

Early 20th Century Country French Louis XIII Confiturier ~ Cabinet was crafted with pride by Rigaux in Vise, a company specializing in oak cabinetry since 1898.  This example shows pegged mortise & tenon joinery, a practice abandoned later in the century due to labor cost.  Utilizing dense, old-growth oak, the artisans created a tailored raised panel on the single door, mounted with exterior brass hinges so it swings wide for easy access.  A pierced brass key guard adds visual interest.  Fine molded detailing pervades throughout, enhanced by the natural warmth and patina of the wood, brought out moreso by our proprietary stripping process.
