18th Century Country French Louis XV Commode ~ Chest of Drawers in Stripped Oak is a splendid example of rural craftsmanship, where such artisans followed the styles dictated by the court.  Here we see a sturdy casework with solid panels all crafted from dense, old growth oak which has been painstakingly stripped by our expert in-house staff to reveal its natural beauty while retaining the patina of over 2 centuries.  A brace of elegantly scrolled legs with intriguing carvings flank the undulating apron which has been embellished with foliate sprays and an amazingly realistic scallop shell.  Shells also appear on each drawer facade, accompanied by scrollwork and floral detailing.  Finely cast brass key guards complete the look.
