18th Century Country French Neoclassical Whitewashed Commode features a subtle classical architecture with a step-front center section defining the facade. Three spacious drawers are enhanced with intricately detailed cast bronze ring pulls and key guards. The commode is deep enough to accommodate lots of clothing or objects, yet the piece is of a size that makes it versatile for any room. Hand-crafted using time-honored techniques such as pegged mortise & tenon joinery, it was literally designed to last for centuries, and already has. Fluted cornerposts and tapered & fluted legs add a nice touch and are complemented by fluted back legs and finely molded recessed panels on each side, but the distressed whitewashed finish makes for the perfect effect for a casual decor.
