18th Century French Louis XVI Period Neoclassical Commode ~ Chest of Drawers is the definition of stately elegance, defined by the styles developed during the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations that remain timeless even today!  Hand-crafted from old-growth oak, it features a modicum of carved detailing mods notable in the spiral ribbon and egg  & dart molding detail, accented with rosettes.  The fluting on the corner posts is reeded at the bottom with wheat motif, and the drawers are fitted with circular rosette guards with ring pulls.  Classic elegance exudes from the design, which includes a solid plank top suitable for display or above which a mirror can be placed.  Lots of drawer space adds a nice storage feature to the design.  Such pieces have found use all over the home and office due to their timeless functionality and elegance.  Note the pegged mortise & tenon joinery, and the hand-hewn planks of the back side.
