18th Century French Louis XV Period Stripped Oak Commode presents the warmth and authenticity of provincial craftsmanship in a form filled with graceful movement. Hand-crafted entirely from solid oak, the commode features three generous drawers, each richly sculpted with layered contours that follow the beautifully shaped façade. A scalloped apron, softly rounded corners and restrained carved accents lend an elegant rhythm to the substantial casework.
The original cast brass pulls and key guards bring the refined character of the Louis XV period to the composition, their flowing Rococo forms complementing the hand-carved drawer fronts with remarkable harmony. Centuries of age have given the oak wonderful depth and individuality, revealing the expressive grain and subtle variations that only naturally aged timber can possess.
Carefully stripped by our in-house staff using a painstaking process designed to preserve the antique patina, the commode now displays the quiet beauty of its solid oak construction while retaining the character bestowed upon it through generations of use. The result is timeless, relaxed and distinctly French, with the quality and presence expected from an authentic 18th-century piece.
