18th Century Louis XVI Country French Oak Commode ~ Chest of Drawers represents the epitome of refined classic style!  The rectilinear architecture of the piece recalls the glory years of the ancient Greek and Roman builders, with solid oak as the material of choice, hand-selected from old-growth planks to ensure centuries of durability.  The solid plank top overlooks the casework with a double-beveled edge all around.  Three capacious full width drawers with subtle raised panels and a quarter round trim all around provide the essence of the style, and open to reveal lots of useful storage space.  The drawers are enhanced with cast brass key guards and ring pulls with brass guards for ease of access.  Tapered legs all around provide support.  Note the dovetails on the drawers, pegged mortise & tenon joinery used throughout the design, and the chamfered solid oak planks on the back side!
